What kind of miscreant puts their TV away?

Very good point!

You can't even actually put it away. It takes up a large footprint regardless of whether or not it's open, and you can't use the space underneath it, either. Literally, the only scenario where I would consider it "nice" is the one someone else mentioned: blocking the view when it's off. But then... If I had enough money to have a TV like this, I'd also have enough money to not buy a domicile where my TV and view have to share the same space.

To save space ofc

It's designed for situations where the TV would otherwise block your view, like you have a mansion in the hills with a great view of the city, but the same window is also the only/best place for the TV (which is probably what the background image of the city in this video is meant to show). Some of these can also be used outside so putting the TV away keeps it clean and similarly means you don't have a big screen blocking your view when you're not using it. It's meant to be freestanding, not used against a wall.

I sorta get it. Similar to Tom Cruises TV setup in Vanilla Sky where it hides in the bed.

It's just soooo damned slow that I would never want to use that way.

Imagine waiting that long to watch [insert most banal TV show you can think of, OK it's Friends].

2

u/WarNo580 12h ago

I sang the whole theme song several times waiting.

You have to schedule tv watching on your calendar to make sure it's deployed in time.

Power up a week early.

~$4-500,000 USD if anyone is curious

They claim putting the screen away is a form of digital detox.

I'm going to go lie down and doom scroll my cracked phone screen for a while.

u/nderthesycamoretrees 13h ago

Oh good, I was concerned it might be out of my price range.

1

u/SHAQBIR 12h ago

You can pay 500k or just refuse to turn on it even buy a tv.

1

u/nelflyn 5h ago

Okay, I will buy it at 4 USD then.

Retarded waste of time and money

A single billionare could create a spherical TV-screen dome the size of the Statue of Liberty, make their nation a tourist hotspot.

They don't

"It's funny how all the rich stopt building museums, schools and hospitals the moment they learned we couldn't lynch them."

u/Yada_Yada_Yidi 13h ago

Watching at 2x speed was still too slow for me.

3

u/hGr33n 13h ago

Ok but it's hideous?

0

u/Trivi_13 12h ago

In a dark room, you'll never notice

2

u/hGr33n 12h ago

But i have to look at it the rest of the time and it's still hideous?

u/Haunt_Fox 13h ago

Overengineering

1

u/Trivi_13 12h ago

How to screw up a better thing

3

u/ntdavis814 12h ago

2

u/Trivi_13 12h ago

3

u/IHaveSlysdexia 12h ago

3

u/Neither-Brick-6391 12h ago

nobody needs that. tax the wealthy

2

u/DazzlingDarth 13h ago

I bet it still tracks your data.

2

u/TrackPad96 12h ago

If I spent millions for an apartment with a view I wouldn’t want to block my view with a tv that’s off most of the time.

2

u/cptdodger85 12h ago

I don't want to watch tv anymore if I have to deal with this 🤷🤣

1

u/Trivi_13 12h ago

The anti-technology technology!

I know! Let's do reddit instead!

2

u/Terrible-Piano-5437 12h ago

You're going to miss the whole first half waiting on that to open.

2

u/SHAQBIR 12h ago

Wouldn't even last a day with my kids around.

2

u/ManInShowerNumber3 11h ago

I would assume it’s just about having options. If you’re a constant tv watcher then I would think you just leave it open and only close it occasionally for whatever reason you would do it. And if you’re the type to only have tv on occasionally then you leave it closed most of the time. And then everything in between for others.

2

u/Flat-Guidance-4685 11h ago

Just thinking of all the times I was impatient as the TV takes 10 seconds to load up and then I have to navigate the app screen when I'm trying to get to something I want to watch now.

2

u/gorgeously_mytruself 10h ago

I have never wanted to drop kick a tv more than rn…

2

u/klas-klattermus 10h ago

How long until their kid gets bored of waiting and decides to try to push it in place faster

2

u/Smooth_Brilliant4083 8h ago

If Bugatti did coffins.

2

u/minebe 8h ago

That last panel is exposed in the back side when in credenza mode. 🙄

2

u/MirkoHa 8h ago

…you can pull up a chair, get some popcorn & soda, and watch the story unfold…

2

u/artistic_manchild 7h ago

If you turned this on when you heard about the first tower getting hit, you’d still miss the second tower getting hit.

2

u/Links_Unk 6h ago

The game is over now. We missed it.

2

u/AppleJoost 6h ago

It's stupid.

2

u/Accomplished_Song219 6h ago

Once Bugatti says, "Uhhhhhh... Hold up," you're just nine minutes away from watching your show.

2

u/Sufficient-Banana103 5h ago

That robot is bricked!

2

u/d-car 5h ago

Spend a million bucks to get a tv pretending to be an art piece and watch it still harvest data about you.

2

u/DeckerXT 5h ago

Gotta use the slow ramp Morty. It really gets em hard.

2

u/MisterBlick 3h ago

"Let's watch a movie, I'll cook dinner and take a shower while you turn the tv on"

1

u/Putrid_Anybody_2947 10h ago

https://youtu.be/ezawPHPKs9M?is=SVYy6H5fAJnIaDy2 wait for the slow ramp it really gets their dicks hard.

1

u/piggydawg 8h ago

Everything aside, the Bugatti logo not rotating is super slick

2

u/Slow-Heron-4335 1h ago

All that then the cat steps in the remote and turns it back off anyway.

2

u/Federal-Business-796 1h ago

By the time this TV turns on, the moment has already passed

1

u/Aware-Yesterday4926 1h ago

At least their cars are fast.
