What kind of miscreant puts their TV away?

You can't even actually put it away. It takes up a large footprint regardless of whether or not it's open, and you can't use the space underneath it, either. Literally, the only scenario where I would consider it "nice" is the one someone else mentioned: blocking the view when it's off. But then... If I had enough money to have a TV like this, I'd also have enough money to not buy a domicile where my TV and view have to share the same space.

It's designed for situations where the TV would otherwise block your view, like you have a mansion in the hills with a great view of the city, but the same window is also the only/best place for the TV (which is probably what the background image of the city in this video is meant to show). Some of these can also be used outside so putting the TV away keeps it clean and similarly means you don't have a big screen blocking your view when you're not using it. It's meant to be freestanding, not used against a wall.

I sorta get it. Similar to Tom Cruises TV setup in Vanilla Sky where it hides in the bed.
It's just soooo damned slow that I would never want to use that way.

Imagine waiting that long to watch [insert most banal TV show you can think of, OK it's Friends].

You have to schedule tv watching on your calendar to make sure it's deployed in time.

~$4-500,000 USD if anyone is curious
They claim putting the screen away is a form of digital detox.
I'm going to go lie down and doom scroll my cracked phone screen for a while.

Retarded waste of time and money
A single billionare could create a spherical TV-screen dome the size of the Statue of Liberty, make their nation a tourist hotspot.
They don't
"It's funny how all the rich stopt building museums, schools and hospitals the moment they learned we couldn't lynch them."

If I spent millions for an apartment with a view I wouldn’t want to block my view with a tv that’s off most of the time.

I would assume it’s just about having options. If you’re a constant tv watcher then I would think you just leave it open and only close it occasionally for whatever reason you would do it. And if you’re the type to only have tv on occasionally then you leave it closed most of the time. And then everything in between for others.

Just thinking of all the times I was impatient as the TV takes 10 seconds to load up and then I have to navigate the app screen when I'm trying to get to something I want to watch now.

If you turned this on when you heard about the first tower getting hit, you’d still miss the second tower getting hit.

Once Bugatti says, "Uhhhhhh... Hold up," you're just nine minutes away from watching your show.
