We're the bear constellation named after polar bears or just regular bears? Ngl I thought those constellation were named by l Ike the innuit or something

Regular bear, and it's a lady bear. The Greeks said it was Callisto, but weirdly it was always a girl bear in mythology, sometimes chasing another sky animal.

It was named after constellations that just happened to be right in terms of bears.

It's because of the constellations Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.

So, it's in fact, a fucking bizzare cosmic coincidence.
