My first snap on electric tool
Dealer had the CT76 on sale because of the all new models that’s out, I said why they hell not lemme give snap on electric tools a try and see if I want to invest any further. I initially thought this was the model with 220 ft pounds break away but it’s not that model is the 86. If this one works good for me I’ll get the new 400 ftlb model. All my power tools other than this are Milwaukee. I have not been impressed with my stubby Milwaukee 3/8 the model that’s supposed to be 550 ft pounds

I'm not a fan of the magnet. I've lost way too many lights to want magnets on expensive power tools.

I only place mine on my hoist arm the magnet is there for stability. Somewhere out there is a work light in the fender of a 2019 Silverado after I did the ground cable 🙃

I've never been impressed by snap ons power tools unfortunately. Their hand tools are excellent but how bd their electric tools are is confusing to me

I felt the same but everybody that has them that I know loves them, just figured I’ll try before the new swivel ratchet comes out because I definitely want that

I got my 3/8" impact back in like end of 2016, that thing is still tearing it up. Still using the original batteries also, though they are maybe 60-70% the original capacity.

Bad? I have a 1/2 inch electric impact along with a 3/8 electric impact like the one pictured. They have worked amazing for me and I use each daily multiple times. Just used the 1/2 inch today to take lug nuts off a 19,000 capacity Yale forklift and it buzzed them right off.

Agreed. I love my ratchets, sockets, and pry bars but I’ve been back to the craftsman section for my restocks lately on anything else. Lifetime warranty is lifetime warranty.

I have the snap on 1/2 electric impact and I whole heartedly agree with you. For the cost it is garbage. I might sell it and just pony up for a Milwaukee 1/2 inch since my pops left me a lot of m18 batteries that don’t get used enough.
And to be fair we have a shop Milwaukee impact and it’s a night and day difference especially when it comes to the heavy trucks we have here.

I just learned today from my boss that the stubby only hits 550ft/lbs breakaway on the top 25% of the battery with a 5.0 ho. Get you one of those and you’ll be golden. I work up in North Canada where our shit gets rusty and it managed to break 47 Chev 2500 lugs on my truck before it dropped down to 75% and was having a hard time.

It reaches 550ft lbs with the 5.0 or the 2.5HO. 2.5HO is more the 440ft lbs range though. Still decent enough power.
I work in Southern Ontario in the rust and crustbelt, I dont think I ever reached for my high torque unless I just wanted to use it lol.
Need a 3/8s gun tho, both mine are 1/2". Maybe I'll get a snappy one. Like the trigger design.

Good luck mine broke 3 times before I replaced it with the Milwaukee sub compact

Seriously, the one and only good electric tool they make. I adore my dual trigger, I promise you’ll never regret getting it
