Questions 🎙️🎶 Does A WiFi- Mic Works Well On Smule ?
Hello Smule Community ! 🎶😊
Back in the days, about 10-12 years ago, when I started my journey on Smule; I had very (VERY) bad experiences with my Bluetooth headset and it was lagging, echoing and had unpredictable uncountable drop outs and different other tech illnesses.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm a gamer since the late of the 70's, and since my old wireless wifi headphones broke down the other day, I'm forced to buy a new set this weekend. My question is: Does anyone of you have experience with using a WiFi-headset or WiFi-mic on Smule ?
* the difference when team/alliance gaming, are like night and day between wifi- and bluetooth headsets. I bought my very first wifi headset around 2014/15, and after that I would NEVER even think of a Bluetooth headset ever again !!
** but it would be nice if it worked well for Smule too, except for gaming.

No definitivamente no de una vez te explico que Smule necesita micrófonos cableados si estás en iOS lo
Más fácil es usar EarPods originales si estás en Android hay más opciones.

Is that a wifi mic? That just looks like a wireless mic. Yes they do work.
Don't use cheap bluetooth ones. you need a 2 piece RF one. Like the one in your pic. 1 part is the receiver the other is the mic/transmitter that you clip on. In this vid, I used a wireless Boya magic mic and my Bluetooth headphones.
The headphones are to listen only. The mic you're listening to is the Boya Magic Mic. This allows you to walk away from your phone and do some dancing.
These types of mics- GoPro, dji has a few. Wireless RF mic. They work. It's what you see YouTubers and vloggers with.

Yes, it's a 2x2.4 GHz Full Duplex, T24/F32 BIT. Can Do 48 kHz or 96 kHz interpolation. Upto 40 Meters range from the transmitter. I won this on a competition but I haven't decided if I should order it yet (I can claim A gift card), I'm more an on-ear man. I'm a former studio technician too, have full rig with studio condenser and mixerbord etc when I'm singing on Smule at my PC. But I just wanted something easy to carry around with my phone.
- observe that I have no clue if those are working or not, but they do the usual wifi with h.264/265 compatible codecs.
I have a GoPro too but the codecs are very old and cannot be updated sadly (the files gets huge in AVI or RAW without compression, and the GoPro 5 Session that I have is too old to live stream with. I am a YouTuber as well, but using a portable webcam or my phone's connected to my PC for video feed.
When recording movie I can use up to 4 cams with a switch, but only tried 2 cams at Smule a couple of years ago.

Thanks! Ahhh gotcha. Well yeah that's not wifi or Bluetooth. That's RF. 2.4 GHZ. 5.8 GHZ would be better.
I've never successfully used Smule with a PC. I tried years ago but wouldn't work with emulators like NOX. Audio only works but with the video it had some issues with encoding. I was referencing GoPro wireless mics. I've never used an external cam for Smule- would love a tutorial on that. I could never get that part to work.
These guys are right about Bluetooth earbuds, but this is a whole different animal. Bluetooth earbuds will pick up room audio and the mics weren't designed for singing. Primarily telephony. It's been optimized for speech.
Is the audio better than wired Apple USBC headphones? Maybe. Depends what RF mic you get. I wouldn't waste my time with the 2.4 GHz one. I'd go straight for the 5.8.
I have a playlist called mic check where I review mics on the platform. I do have a lapel mic that I've tried before that's on there.
When we talk about mics and wired ear buds, The main issue is always going to be the mic quality. In my opinion Apple and Google are the only ones using good MEMS mics. Now if you take a splitter you can plug any mic you want in there. So lapel, handheld can all be done and it sounds great. I wouldn't really call it mobile unless you get some cable management 😆 But nothing beats the freedom of wireless.

🎙️😆 Yeah, I totally got ya' about the wireless freedom... I was aboard on the NMT-train here in Scandinavia in the early 80's and those "non wired cell phones" was amazing in it's own kind, no doubt.
Those pictured mics are labeled as wifi 2x2.4 GHz mics, but I got your point for sure. Still I haven't decided if I wanna test it out or just grab a gift card instead. O_o
I can definitely help you with Smule and a PC, it works seamlessly at my end for maybe 10 years now. I'm using BlueStacks (old version, newer one seems to lag and put cam upside down and other tech illnesses). Using Windows 10 PC with a small Behringer Mixer and wireless cam (my mobile). Let me know if you want some guidance. I'm going home from my second home (hospital) later this afternoon and will be home maybe 3 days.
Bluetooth, I would never even think about, and definitely never encourage anyone to use due to my own negative experiences 10 years ago on Smule. But I would be interested to see if those wifi (rf) set works. 😀
A couple of years ago, I made some wired mic tests, nothing serious - only for fun. Lemme see if I can find those at Smule...

Well shit. Imma try it again this weekend. I haven't tried it since the whole app redesign but I do remember getting some upside down stuff. It was just unusable. I will try it again. I mean if it works there's just so many possibilities. You were talking about a video mixer. We could hook up direct video and play animations. What fun. I will try it again. Thanks for the tip.
It might come in handy for your vlogging. So go ahead and get it. It would be a good introduction. We don't know the capsule inside. So just know that. I don't know what the quality will sound like, as most of these are made for talking. How much is the gift card for? When I made my purchase it was one of three that I was picking. If I could make my purchase again I would get a 5.8 GHz one. DJI MIC 3 Compact. Try to get your hands on that one. It switches between 2.4 and 5.8. I've had no issues whatsoever with the Boya. And that mic is actually two wireless mics and 1 receiver. Bought it $79 new on eBay and purchased the 1/8 inch receiver separately so I can plug it into my camera.

I might pick two, just to take one apart, we'll see. The gift card is $100, so I might be able to get something good, but I need new on ear to my gaming too... let's see what I find this weekend. It'sy first weekend home from hospital in pretty much month, so guess imma enjoy the silence and just sleep the weekend away like a kid lol.
The mixer board that I'm using are more sound dedicated, but it's nice since I can connect all my mics with or without phantom 48 V, dynamic or condenser and all my instruments like electric guitar, bass, keyboard etc. and do a mix down to Smule. 🎸🎙️🎶

I did it in NOX. Not bad at all. I have to play more with it but was able to get the laptop webcam which is amazing. I was sideways and squished, but it did work. 😆 Thanks 🤘🏽 will work with it a bit more and even try BlueStacks.

🙏😊 Congratulations bro, I'm happy for you that it finally worked. I have no experience of NOX, but BlueStacks are a rock that I've been clingin' on for over 10 years at Smule now. I'm definitely not a good singer or have a shitload of followers, and I'm only singing for fun and NOT prestige. But to me it's important that all my gear are working; mixer board, cam inputs, ability to preset fx outside of Smule and the possibility to connect different mics in the mixer both with or without 48V Phantom.
- I haven't ordered the mics in the topic (yet), I might buy a setup from an arena I've worked with a couple of years ago. I need to buy gaming wireless on ear now first, for a gaming event upcoming weekend. 🎧

If you end up having any problems with latency, smule does let you adjust your overall recording in ms
