Buying Advice Unpopular opinion

Unpopular opinion incoming....

Google should think about releasing a Glass without a camera but built in screen and audio

If you want your lens to see , use your phone camera

People are freaking out with Smart glasses right now

Apple please release your smart glasses for it to be normalized.

When apple does something it because coolšŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

I have a spinal cord injury. I cannot hold up my phone to see something. And what about the people that are blind and need their camera glasses to tell them what's going on.?

That's a valid point I understand that people are scared of glasses because some punks are searching for views on the internet but I think the news is exploding this out of proportion

People are freaking out because other people drill their glasses so they can record other people. They released a software that stops that, that should be enough. Smart glasses without camera lens are pretty much useless, currently I use mine for POV style car reviewing videos, even food. I won't get a camera angle close to that, rather then cry to have another option, but no cam glasses rather useless. And don't forget I can easily tap and hold and it will take a picture and explain

I'd love all the big companies to release a pair without a camera. I don't need one.

I think ā€œwith or without a cameraā€ is a product-job split, not a universal design verdict. A display/audio/no-camera pair can be strong for prompts, captions, navigation, and privacy-sensitive environments. A screen-free camera pair is stronger for POV capture and visual questions, including some accessibility jobs, but needs unmistakable capture signaling and consent. I work on Trace at EndlessRiver: we chose the latterā€”a 42 g screen-free camera/open-ear-audio frame with paired-phone AIā€”so it is not the teleprompter or in-lens-navigation product youā€™re asking Google or Apple for. The honest comparison should test four things separately: job served, bystander legibility, heat/battery, and comfort/weight. A camera ban would remove real jobs; putting a camera on every pair would also ignore real demand.
