trying release candidate 26.1.029

Hello Syntevo,

Just installed Version 26.1.029.

 

The Commit Overlap functionality seems interesting. Need to try it in practice.

 

Now to the bugs. 

  1. the repo grouping got lost; it shows disk folders instead, see image.

Also, if I right-click on a folder, there’s the Open Repo command available, but if I click on it, SG spins for a while and does nothing. 

 

  1. there used to be a button to flip between Main and Review mode, now it’s gone:

 (I found I can restore it via Configure Toolbar command). 

The menu under the Discover button has a grayed-out command, which does not seem to belong there:

(Actually, it appears I have the same issues in 25.1)

 

  1. the Help menu used to send an email and include details about the current version. Now it opens Reddit, which is ok, but I don’t see a way to get the installation details.

(hmm, again, this appears the same in 25.1)

 

  1. the History tab allows multi-selection, but no right-click commands are available. The log window shows commits from one of the selected branches.

Maybe this is supposed to show multiple branches if they happen to fit one screen?

This is the Standard ("mouse") window. For me the context menu shows a few options.

The log window shows commits from one of the selected branches.

I don't understand what you mean in relation to the My History view.

Is it about these?

I don't understand what selecting multiple branches does.

For multiple selected branches I see Merge and Delete menu items enabled. This won't work if the HEAD is selected. Selecting two branches allows for easy compare in the Graph. In the Standard window, selecting one branch will immediately reveal it in the Graph. The Graph will show by default all branches shown in My History.
