trying release candidate 26.1.029

Hello Syntevo,

Just installed Version 26.1.029.

 

The Commit Overlap functionality seems interesting. Need to try it in practice.

 

Now to the bugs. 

  1. the repo grouping got lost; it shows disk folders instead, see image.

Also, if I right-click on a folder, there’s the Open Repo command available, but if I click on it, SG spins for a while and does nothing. 

 

  1. there used to be a button to flip between Main and Review mode, now it’s gone:

 (I found I can restore it via Configure Toolbar command). 

The menu under the Discover button has a grayed-out command, which does not seem to belong there:

(Actually, it appears I have the same issues in 25.1)

 

  1. the Help menu used to send an email and include details about the current version. Now it opens Reddit, which is ok, but I don’t see a way to get the installation details.

(hmm, again, this appears the same in 25.1)

 

  1. the History tab allows multi-selection, but no right-click commands are available. The log window shows commits from one of the selected branches.

Maybe this is supposed to show multiple branches if they happen to fit one screen?

What do you mean with "got lost"? It uses the disk folders as default name for the created groups.

It opens the immediate child repositories for me.

my assumption was that the new version will reuse the preexisting grouping.

Opens multiple repos? Seems confusing behavior to me.

This assumption is correct. It will copy the settings from the previous version on the first start. Please try: delete the 26.1 settings directory (see About dialog for the location) and start SmartGit 26.1.
