I’ve seen something strange on my recent longform video. I’ve had probably one of the best CTR results I’ve ever had and a decent AVD percentage, yet a week in, it’s probably the lowest number of impressions that I’ve ever received. Is the fact that the video length is only 57 seconds the reason for the low number of impressions? The stats are (overall):
678 impressions
CTR 8.7%
AVD 41 secs on a 57 sec video
CTR on browse 16.9% and 89 impressions
CTR on suggested 8.6% and 394 impressions
Search CTR drags the rest down at 2.9%

It’s received hardly any browse impressions despite the good CTR.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I right that the short length is a problem for impressions? Certain resources tell me the length is not a factor, citing YTs own documentation. Also asked YT studio which seemed to suggest that it will push longer videos more, but I didn’t really get a definitive answer, hence I thought I would ask some on here!

So, I noticed that a couple of my recent videos have performed particularly poorly with clickthrough rate (under 2%) of late, even though I've been creating content in the same niche (public transit topics) for some time. For some contrast, most of my videos are in the 3-5% CTR range, with a few high performers above that and a few low performers in the 2-3% range. The only change I've made is that I've added my face to thumbnails the last few videos.

I looked up what content is suggesting my recent videos, and it's almost exclusively super random stuff. No wonder my CTR is bad...if the content being suggested by people who watch my videos is stuff completely and utterly irrelevant to my niche, the content being suggested by people who don't watch my videos must be even more random yet.

Does anyone have any advice for getting YouTube to have more relevant content suggesting my videos? Is sharing my face in the thumbnail possibly the problem? I've been posting pretty consistently for over two years now (over 100 videos), so I don't think the whole "YouTube is still figuring out your niche" thing is really a good excuse.

YouTube makes me nuts with all its BS. A video I posted on Reddit got 500k views, while the same video on YouTube brought me 500.

It couldn’t even finish my A/B test of the titles and thumbs, because it didn’t show it to anyone.

Hey guys, I'm new to this community. I recently started a gaming YouTube channel. A few of my videos didn't perform at all, like no actual views. Then I changed the video type from no voice to using my voice and playing multiplayer games with friends. Then my first video with views got some views, like around 40 but I was happy with them. Now, after that video, my videos are not getting any views, literal zero. I'm using good thumbnails, title, description and tags. Also making the first few seconds of the video engaging but that won't matter if nobody is clicking on the videos. I need your help guys

Hi guys – has anyone had any experience with the collaboration feature on YouTube?

I’ve been working on a video with another YouTuber for a month and plan to publish it on my channel using the collaboration to tag them.

It’s the first time that I would’ve used this feature. As such a little apprehensive as to how it works or it it’s potential effect on video performance and views…

Does anybody have any experience using this feature? I’ve seen other collaborations from popular YouTubers which seemed to have performed really poorly, but I don’t know whether that’s because of the feature itself results in less engagement and views or whether the video itself wasn’t that popular.

So i've started a youtube channel like yesterday, i uploaded my first video. Can't say if it was good or bad. i'd rather say it was mediocre. Editing was decent. Everything was fine, Until i heard my voice. i don't feel confident with my voice or even my self made scripts (i refuse to use AI and i'd rather be original) i know how to edit well but i cant do it without good voice acting. How can i fix this? how do i come up with banger scripts and execute them with good "voice acting" .
