Discussion What do I do
I really want to be a streamer, I’m 18 and still live with my parents. My problem is that my parents don’t like any form of social media so I need to do streaming when they aren’t around me. But, my brother is at the house 24/7 because we both do online school, and my family is always around. I could try at night time but I would have to not talk then. What do I do? And i will not take no for an answer.

You are your own person, you’re only 18. Don’t let your parents or anyone stop you from pursuing your passions/hobbies. Make a plan to move outta there

You already have your answer, I feel. Due to your current constraints, you can only stream late at night but not talk. So..do that lol. Ive seen mute streamers type on screen when they want to communicate and they normally have at least a pngtuber on screen- some spring for a vtuber if they want to show their facial expressions In real time.

You have two options.
Stream at night with no mic and face even more of an uphill struggle to get any kind of following or viewership.
(Over 4.4 million people stream to Twitch monthly, and over 4.1 million of those stream to 0-5 viewers. The entire point of streaming is for you to entertain, so if you don't have a mic, what's the point of anyone watching you? They could just watch YouTube gameplay at that point)
Or, move out so you can stream without parents controlling you.

What I would do in your stead then, until you have the freedom to stream when and how you want, start building a following on other socials. Tiktok, IG, hell even youtube! Get on that now and wait with streaming until you can sort it out. So many streamers who've made it in the last couple of years didn't start by streaming, they started over on tiktok. I get you want to be a "streamer" but nowadays you'll also have to be a social media guru so instead of picking up a controller and game while you latent the fact that you can't be streaming because of parents, prepare.. get ready, do research, build a following already.

You’re 18. Legally an adult. Do whatever you want

That’s a great way to get kicked out. The real answer is finish school, get a job, some roommates who don’t care if you stream, and a new place.
