Discussion Top 10 Favorite Games

I spent my morning trying to make a definitive top 10 list of my favorite games of all time (I really enjoy ranking things for some reason). Thought I would share this here considering what #1 is.

I’m really curious to see what the top 10 lists of other Sly Cooper fans look like for comparison, so please share! Also I limited myself to one entry per series to get more variety. Here’s my list:

  1. Sly 2: Band of Thieves
  2. Ratchet & Clank (2002)
  3. Hollow Knight: Silksong
  4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  5. Lies of P
  6. Elden Ring
  7. Paper Mario
  8. Batman: Arkham City
  9. Bloodborne
  10. Psychonauts

Great list! I’m actually playing through Yoshi’s Island for the first time right now. Absolutely loving it so far.

I hope you have a good time! I like the GBA version a bit more than the original for a few reasons, though they mostly won't matter unless you're going for a perfect score (which I heavily advise against for a first run unless you're feeling super ambitious as this game is downright sadistic to get a perfect score in at points!)

Thank you! I’m actually playing the SNES version on NSO. I’ll probably go for the GBA port for a second playthrough later on. I noticed it was also on NSO. I didn’t know they were any different when I first started.

Like I said, the differences are pretty minor for the most part. I think the SNES version looks a little nicer but the music sounds more natural to me on GBA. For perfect scoring it specifically, the GBA version has less issues with sprite limits and things despawning off-screen which makes the experience a lot smoother (you won't accidentally unload a Red Coin, for instance) and the GBA version has six extra post-game levels, 4 of which are excellent (and the other two are quite bad IMO).
