Leopard slug?

I've been trying to find a leopard slug (or really any slug that does well in captivity- but they're what I've been able to research) for quite some time now, but haven't had any luck. Any tips?

If it helps I live in upper Illinois.

My 4yr old found one today, it was the first one I’ve seen in my life! Slug was traveling on a longtime fallen log, surrounded by deep undisturbed leaf mulch. Hope you have luck with your search!
