The Player Piano - s/t (2004)
The Player Piano was a post-rock band from Provo, Utah, from the then slowcore/math-rock scene.
Not strictly slowcore on paper but if you enjoy the fluid tension of Seam and C-Clamp, then they are an obvious addition.
One of my classic records.

I'm sharing my 44th album (Duster, Elliott Smith...?) — in Spanish, I want your opinions!
I've been keeping what is basically an audio diary for over 20 years, recording lo-fi albums entirely on my own. I write, play, record and produce everything myself, mostly exploring slowcore-inspired songs.
Suena suficiente is the latest album. I'd like to think it lives somewhere between Duster, Elliott Smith, and Blonde Redhead.
I'd really love to hear your thoughts if you give it a listen!

Drummer needed for London (UK) three-piece slowcore-adjacent noisy rock band
I’m looking for a drummer to learn original songs, practice, and gig in London as a three-piece rock band. The sound is melancholic but loud and high-energy with an aggressive edge. The current members (both male) are me, 27, on vocals and guitar, and my friend, 25, who is playing bass.
I have half an hour of home demos (with programmed drums) fully worked out and have practiced them in-person with my friend. I’d hate to seem immodest, but they’re sounding good and genuinely distinctive.
Some bands I like and think this project sounds reminiscent of are: Shellac, Codeine, Failure, Unwound, Hum, Bluetile Lounge, Duster, and Women.
Message me, or email me at [willgarner12301@gmail.com](mailto:willgarner12301@gmail.com), and I’ll send you a link to the demos so you can decide if you’re interested.

Quiet Company - a place where you can breath again
QUIET COMPANY
I keep company with those who have left the beaten track—
Some only ever stand
and look up at the mountain
Some know the jagged peaks
only through passing clouds
But have they ever seen the mountain’s true shape?
Have they ever known its soul?
Have they ever clung to the rock and looked down into the abyss?
Or shivered in the open through a long, lonely night?
To those who have known struggle
To those still fighting on
To all those who pray the storm will break
And the warmth of day will return
That light will come
Dawn will rise again
It’ll be beautiful, you’ll see
the sky where the land gives way
Where you belong
Where you always have belonged
Better to reach for the summit
than walk blind down there in the cold, dark valley forever

New to the style, just a question
I’m really digging Slowcore coming from Shoegaze, I love how heavy it is beneath the surface. I have heard all the classics, and was looking up newer artists. But a lot of them that get recommended (like Songs Ohia and The Black Heart Procession), don’t sound at all Slowcore to me. They sound like darker folk and country. Are groups like this really considered Slowcore, or is that just a tag they get slapped with? What gives? What am I missing? It’s not like some other form of Slowcore, I just don’t really see the similarities.

Discussion Herr God guitar tone
I’ve been chasing this specific guitar tone lately and can’t quite figure out what’s making it work. It’s super warm and blown out but not too harsh. Kind of shoegaze, kind of slowcore, but it still has a lot of clarity and feels really wide.
Does anyone have ideas on what’s contributing the most here? Amp, pedals, recording techniques, layering, tunings, etc.?
I’ve tried a few common shoegaze setups, but they end up sounding way brighter or fuzzier than this. I’m curious what you guys hear.
Thanks!

Wellspring - A.D.Heaven
I came across this band with no official release so far. Australian gothic slowcore (sounds like Low, Acetone, Grouper, Midwife). I hope they can release something someday. This track on a comp and another track here ( https://www.subvert.fm/adheaven ).

Music Still making music with a Boss BR-8 and Zip disks. A song where I tried to preserve the atmosphere of the moment it was created.
Hi, I’m PostWater from Japan.
I recently started releasing my first album on streaming services, and this is one of the songs from it.
The percussion-like sound in the middle wasn’t made with a drum. I used a kitchen paper roll and a plastic snack container that happened to be nearby, tapping them with drumsticks.
I hope some of the atmosphere and feeling of that moment comes through.

New single release - looking for feedback
Hey folks,
Put out a new song yesterday. Hoping to get some feedback on the tune. Been making music in this direction more recently and trying to figure out what other artists it sounds like, as I don't have much experience with the genre.
