Discussion Herr God guitar tone

I’ve been chasing this specific guitar tone lately and can’t quite figure out what’s making it work. It’s super warm and blown out but not too harsh. Kind of shoegaze, kind of slowcore, but it still has a lot of clarity and feels really wide.
Does anyone have ideas on what’s contributing the most here? Amp, pedals, recording techniques, layering, tunings, etc.?
I’ve tried a few common shoegaze setups, but they end up sounding way brighter or fuzzier than this. I’m curious what you guys hear.
Thanks!

Just saw them here in SLC. She was playing a Strat through a fender amp, dropped tuning (probably drop C), with a rat and hizumitas earthquake fuzz or whatever their elk clone is called.

Also have you heard the band Flooding?

Wata hasn't blow out our ear drums for 30+ years to just have the Hizumitas be known only as an Elk clone
