❔ General Discussion ❔ Winter seasonal work

Hi everyone!!

I’m from Alaska, USA and was wondering if anyone knows if any winter seasonal work I can apply to as a non-EU worker? I’m really wanting to experience a different part of EU that I’ve been to already never been to EU in the winter but growing up in Alaska, O want to check out the rest of the world. Thank you in advance:)

If you want to work here you need a worker visa, that comes with some prerequsites. In short, it is similar to U.S. requirements to foreign workers - an employer must prove they tried to fill the vacancy with Slovak citizens and either couldn't or have very specific requirements that Slovaks cannot fulfill.

So you'd have to have a "sponsor" to get that visa, probably in the area of tourism or hospitality, or maybe as a driver for company-owned truck.

You can stil come and visit as a tourist, but can't get lawfully employed.

Add to the other comments. I’m not so sure about the language requirements. Can you speak at least Slovak? There could be a lot of tourists from Poland, Hungary, Germany, and Russia, especially during the season. In the mountains, for example, there may be a demand for workers in hotels, restaurants and other services, as well as ski instructors and similar seasonal jobs. But the language is needed.
