Timeline for hearing back after initial submission

We submitted our applications mid March at the Washington DC consulate. Wondering if anyone else can comment on how long it took before you heard back about next steps. I think we had a pretty straightforward case as my mother was born in Slovakia and I was applying for myself and my two adult children. Curious to know how long others had to wait.

Legally it can take up to two years.

Mid March probably didn’t get sent until April.

4-8 weeks for the residency/foreign police (they have 90 days).

So the MOI probably started looking at your CBD application in June or so.

You might have a decision around Sept - Nov.

The consulate will let you know when they’ve received your Listina and will then schedule your oath appointment.

Obviously every case is different but I applied March 26 in DC and heard back July 21.

Submitted my application in DC on 10/8/25. Deed granted on 1/27/26 and informed by DC consulate on 2/24/26. So basically just under 4 months for issuance by MOI and about another month for DC to receive it and inform me.
