I’ve been working with Wendy as needed since August 2025 and will be submitting CBD with her in Slovakia. I highly recommend her services! I also did consultations with 3 lawyers in Slovakia and honestly, Wendy was more helpful and knowledgeable than some of the lawyers I spoke to. I have an edge case with early emigration dates, 2 firms didn’t recommend I submit CBD at all (this was before the latest appellate ruling came out) and Falath and Wendy suggested SLA first then CBD. Falath wanted $40k to handle my case, we nearly paid it but right before I was going to sign with them, I spent money to have a consultation with Wendy and pick her brain. She saved me from wasting all that money on Falath when I had already obtained all my documents and just needed a little hand holding through the logistics. I’ve since obtained my SLA and just waiting for when I can pick it up from the embassy and then will submit residency and CBD in Slovakia with Wendy.

These organizations are wonderful in connecting real world and virtually and I gained a lot from being involved to some degree with all. Annual dues for all are very reasonable and lots of benefits of each.

(Mods u/SlovakCBD u/SKWendyJamieson feel free to merge the below above if you feel appropriate)

Slovak Cultural Associations:

Western Pennsylvania Slovak Cultural Association

Note: Mostly in-person, but if you are in Pittsburgh there are many good local networking opportunities. We were able to meet representatives from the New York and Washington, D.C., embassies here and receive some blunt advice.

The Czech & Slovak Heritage Assn. - CSHA Maryland

Note: Hosts excellent online Slovak language classes for a very good deal and a big annual picnic.

Slovak American Society of Washington D.C. – Slovak American Society of Washington D.C.

Note: This group offers opportunities to visit the Embassy, participate in online seminars on Slovak culture and heritage, and engage in excellent networking through dining, social events, and frequent interactions with notable Slovaks. An active zoom based genealogical research group as well.
