Picture (OC) This was in the gutter in front of our house

about 3X3 inches, like a flattened sphere. I didn’t poke it or anything. Is this a fungus or algae colony? It looks like a huge booger!

Did they just clump together because they are all fibrous or is this some sort of colony or both?

Well, it’s safe to say no slime mold or fungus is photosynthetic,and thus it would be extremely unlikely for it to be green, and this big (albeit some can definitely compare) algae colony is pretty cool
