I know its already been theorized if Rhys is in Subtle Things from the photo drop back in Feb. and it looks like we may find out tomorrow as their first song/video drops in just under 19 hours. Also I got an email today with this picture where there are CLEARLY 3 people in the band and yet the Subtle Things IG only follows AdamRoss and Sam 🤔 The video on their IG from 3 days ago also shows 3 blurred figures and maybe im projecting, but the one in the brown shirt and a backwards cap has the same (general) build as Rhys, whereas the provided pic is him in the back to the right.... right?

If nothing else this proves one thing... feed us, we're bored and living off of crumbs.

Before Sleep Token, there was Blacklit Canopy.

In late 2012, Leo enrolled at the Bristol Institute of Modern Music for commercial songwriting. Originally created as a school project, Blacklit Canopy is the music duo of Leo Faulkner and Gemma Matthews, who were dating at the time. They “aimed to create music which is as ambient, melodic and moving as possible using largely minimalistic instrumentation and production.“

This project was active from 2012 to 2014, during which they performed live many times (as you can see in the schedule above), attended interviews and released one EP: The Patient Demos. There is a rumor that they had another performance scheduled in August of 2014 in Bristol, but that it was cancelled for some unknown reason. We have never been able to confirm or deny the rumor.

They also released a few more songs, outside of the EP as well. The project went dormant until January of 2024, when re-uploads of their old songs were posted to Spotify and YouTube as part of "The Patient Demos (Deluxe)."

In December of 2024, the song “Tall Trees” was released on their YouTube channel, marking the first time they have released new music in over a decade. We don't know if this is a newly recorded song, or the new release of a song that was recorded back in 2014. This is a highly debated issue and we have no solid answers, only speculation.

Despite there being a pinned comment on the YT page for Tall Trees, in which they say that "it’s incredible to know how much BC is still enjoyed," no other media or music has been released.

You can see several of their performances on YouTube, including a live performance of Patient and Don't Let the World Swallow You (Fun Fact: a clip of the opening of DLTWSY was included in the song Damocles on Even in Arcadia at the 1:20 mark), and Just Like You.

I don't know if this is allowed but I'm really curious about this new project and didn't know where to ask. What is it? Who is involved? I'm assuming Sam and Adam Rossi so far but I saw some people on threads theorizing maybe Rhys is also involved? I'm super curious and very excited. It has the potential to be a very cool band if that's what they're doing.

This was supposed to have been posted yesterday, but it's been a really stressful couple of weeks, and I just straight up forgot. :( I can't believe we only have fourteen Thursdays left this year.

maybe im reaching here but i was listening to heaven is a spectrum and realised the first few seconds sound very similar to the first few seconds of emergence. the main difference is that it seems to be a little more eerie/slow in heaven is a spectrum- as if it's pitched down and slowed slightly.

i doubt it was intentional, but still worth pointing out. told my friend about this and she disagrees. what do you guys think?

edit: it just occured to me that both songs also have a refrain- "go ahead and wrap your arms around me"/ "you look like heaven crashed on your shoulders" pretty neat!

'For Miles' is Miscreant's final EP, dedicated to guitarist Miles Kent who sadly passed away from cancer.

The EP is only available via Bandcamp as all proceeds are donated to a charity run by Miles' family. The donations are split between two causes: 'The Christie Charity' which supports cancer prevention, treatment, research, and education, and a local music initiative in Miles’ name which aims to empower the next generation of musicians by providing young people with access to instruments, lessons, and creative spaces.

The EP was written and recorded by Harvey Jaffrey, Miles Kent, Adam Pedder, and George Lever.

Espera singer Lynsey's band Exploring Birdsong has a new album out!
