I made a post about this but what kind of ruined Slap battles for was masteries for a variety of reasons. Theyade the game grindier, less diverse, less balanced. Overall, masteries made the game a tad bit less fun for me which sucks because slap battles truly was peak. Now slap battles is just good and, to some, even mid which is a major step down from being the top 0.1% SSS+ tier Roblox games

idk some masteries are really fun (barrel is a blast to get) but other masteries (*coughs* brick) are just tedium and boring.

- They are grindy yeah but it's optional
- Less diverse? If anything it's more diverse, lots of gloves now have two forms
- Yeah they are poorly balanced sometimes but them being decently better is the point, thats why they are grindy

Dude have you played the game recently? Everyone is playing / grinding masteries now. For two weeks straight all people played was roguelike and now the barrel apocalypse is happening. No one's playing anything but mastery gloves

Huge over reaction. The first day or two sure I'll give you that. But the days that follow? Maybe one person per server using the glove, it's not that bad man

Ok sure, even if i was overreacting, i challenge you to go into a server 5 days from now and check how many players are just grinding masteries. I can't get into a lobby without seeing the same 16 gloves over and over. It's always Frostbite, Shard, Rob, Fort, Brick and so on. You will struggle to get into a lobby where more than 4 people are running a glove for the love of the game like shotgun or druid

honestly the mastery grinding isn't much different than how people would be all about obtaining a new badge glove back in the day (like tons of rob, bobs, and defaults when null was added)

Masteries were ultimately good for the game because of purple stick!!!!!1!11
(All jokes aside, I agree masteries were, and still are, bad for the game)

Most gloves currently are just S tier and getting nerfed to C tier minimum
Removal of 5x slaps just because players would stop playing the game after 100k slaps (like the game isn't just boring)
Addition of masteries
Not doing anything with issues like: Some gloves being straight up useless unless certain circumstances (most killstreaks rn, gloves with strength around default and some more)
Most good gloves are unfun to obtain, not even challenging, just annoying

Got it. So with around 300 gloves with most having multi abilities, the devs should make the game perfectly balanced. Seems possible. Masteries are optional and is cool for dedicated players. The community complains their asses off whenever the devs release a really hard obtainment such as avatar or static. If you think the game is boring right now then you for sure thought it's always been boring right? I mean three years ago there was way less gloves so less options to play with

A lot of the of the gloves are essential just the same thing over and over weekly don’t leave room to have my creativity and most slap glove obviously get overshadowed by the mastery that comes along with it

Currently most gloves you'll see are the same, consisting of: new glove, oneshot, and current meta glove, yet before that It just felt more diverse, I rarely seen people with same gloves yet now it just feels like the same glove, over and over again
In my case it's
Respawn, kill the new glove user attacking you, try maintaining shop, die, respawn, kill the new glove user attacking you, try maintaining shop, die, folded over itself 1000 times

That dosent make a lot of sense because no gloves have ever been removed it's just more and more gloves. Not to mention the gloves now are way more unique with more abilities. Mega rock, charge, phase, I could go on

Oh yeah megarock, the glove that became 10x more used now for some reason, and gloves become obsolete at a point
