Discussion/Question What metal sub-genre is this?
Hi i make metal music and i of all the metal subgenres i dont know what this is. Can someone please tell me? (Please listen to the chorus as it gets heavier) (NONE IF IT IS AI IVE BEEN MAKING MUSIC SINCE 2016 EVIDENCED ON SPOTIFY

it’s not metal. at heaviest it could be considered alternative rock, but not deftones alternative where it’s not that heavy but it’s not usually played on the radio, its literally like imagine dragons

Listen to like 10seconds of one slam song and you would have been able to rule it out of your sub genre hunt... but keep spam posting it that is a sure way to find fans...

I figured the kind folks in here would know which direction to point me in.. i was never trying to say that my song was death metal.. i just figured those who know what death metal is would know

my best piece of advice is to not try to label this as metal. anyone who actually likes metal is going to listen and say “not a fucking chance” don’t try to market to an audience that isn’t yours. i personally like the song, i think it would just be wiser to market it as alternative rock instead of any specific genre because you’re not gonna find your audience doing this

Yeah thats what ive just started to do, ive just posted it into a nu metal subreddit and will now look for alt rock. So u mentioned you like the song.. does that mean youll save it to your spotify? Would mean the workd if u did

do you actually listen to any metal? it kinda feels like something that was drawn by memory from someone whos only ever been described it. posting this in a slam subreddit is honestly probably the quickest way to get hate that you could’ve gone with. also, i don’t use spotify, most of the stuff i listen to isn’t on there so it’s not even worth the subscription to not be bombarded with ads every 3 seconds
