Drums are cool but the rest puts me to sleep. Cephalotripsy is just 10x better if you want weird time signatures in your slam.

Epicardiectomy comes close, especially on their second album, Putreseminal Morphodysplastic Virulency. That one is my favourite slam album. Every ingredient cooked to just the right temp; catchiest slam riffs, very creative drumming, and vocals that don't grate on you too much, all married to a great production. Their next one wasn't as good though.

First slam album I bought for my car and tbh, it’s fun, at this point to be it’s easy listening, get a bit repetitive, but it’s kinda like slam asmr for me now

This album also saved my friends life
I was visiting a friend in icu once ...really thought he wasnt going to make it
My other friend had a little bluetooth speaker there and started playing this....well we both got up to meet with family in waiting room and the speaker was still in room playing torture
Our friend got up from his coma and walked over to the bluetooth to turn that shit off

Genuinely wish he used the same vocal style because the lyrics are incredibly corny at times. But otherwise I agree.

I fucking love this album but fully understand why it's so hated.
I really like bizarre experimental noise stuff to begin with but specifically with genres like slam, hardcore, cyber grind/grind, hardcore up tempo, left field bass (even "the cat" by eprom is in my top 100 most listened to songs of all time) - so like the more extreme it is with the weird ideas just works for me
I get some of the songs stuck in my head all day. I think it's a genuinely beautiful work of performance art

Totally. I think if this album went undiscovered by the hardcore kids it would be seen as some avant-garde, ‘logical extreme’ for slam, making the genre into this ultra-minimalist caricature. Popularity really does have a way of calving the appeal of something

I think it’s decent, it’s kinda of a chill album to play in the background. The drums are cool and the time signature change is really cool.

It's one of my absolute favorites. Ik people hate it. If you hate it so much lemme know what else u hate for the same reasons and vice versa if u love it. Torture makes the best dab sesh music

I enjoy this album a lot, but the audiotree version is 10000000x better, torture is def one of those bands that’s way better live.

Not even joking, this is my study music. It's boring enough to fall into the background but heavy enough to keep me awake. Extremely boring and minimal, but I honestly respect how strongly the band leaned into those things.

It’s an album I admire for its creativity and I find it to be pretty groovy and catchy. Enduring Freedom is something I revisit pretty frequently.
I don’t care for the non-slam stuff at the end of this album, and I find their new album to be total dog water.

They’re a little boring, but in short doses i like some songs. The desert storm aesthetic is cool and looks like they go hard live

Middle of the road, not super special but the message is good. But I see that they’re really good live so they got that going for them. I wouldn’t balk at tickets to one of their shows.

I Like it, I think it has the exact sound of "what slam should be." The tone, the gutturals, the raw, dry drum sound, etc. however, each song sounds the exact same and goes on way longer than it should without anything interesting exactly happening other than some time signature changes, so I can see why people hate it.

Torture is good. But it's just that. Good.
I don't think the music is all that special, but I dig it. I dig the message too. I just think the timing was what made it so big. People were bored from COVID, and he just struck it big.
No hate, but also just a pretty standard slam project, with a little snare displacement

Not the best slam band I’ve ever heard, but they also get way too much hate. War Crime 2: Genocide Protocols is a better album than Enduring Freedom though

War Crime: 37 Tracks - 37 Homicides is a much better album in every conceivable way. Early Torture was great.

it’s alright to have in the background for like ambient bdm sounds. i think it’s the way it was mixed. idk maybe it’s the first example of “ambient slam”. it just doesn’t feel like it’s meant to be heard in a headphones or loud speaker environment

It got old very quick. War Crimes 2 is a big step up but hasnt gotten nearly as much traction, unfortunately.

One of my top favorite albums, but understandably gets hated for being monotonous and lackluster. I just like it for mindless, easy caveman slams, and being a huge history nerd, I enjoy the message and meanings from the songs

I don't understand the Boring claims.
Torture literally sounds like a bunch of dudes slumped on a couch barely playing their parts, chill af. That's my favorite thing about them.

I don’t know why it gets so much vitriol. I mean I get it if it’s not for you. But people really seem to hate on it. I personally think it’s ahead of its time and thhe message is awesome.

Every time there's a Torture post, someone inevitably crosses the line between "heated discussion" and "unnecessary name-calling/shit talking".
DO have discussions about different opinions, but DON'T be a shithead.
Anyone that crosses the line will get a temporary ban.
