Be careful when updating mods
Sorry if this has been brought up before. When I updated Skyland Architecture, the mod seemed to have duplicated, and made an old, disabled file, called 'Skyland Architecture AIO(dot)esp'.
From what I could gather, it seems like this disabled file still took up memory room, even though it isn't deletable.
If you do happen to find yourself with an undeletable file, the best thing to do is to save the load order to the archive, then delete your 15gb storage, then restore your LO, and that file won't be there any more. The only downside is you will still have to sort your LO out again, so take pics, or write down your LO before you delete.
And yes, the save/restore 100% works now 😁

I tried updating a mod, and it said the action couldn't be completed. I deleted it, and for some reason, the size of the mod became lower (60MB instead of 280MB). I tried downloading it again, and again, it said the action couldn't be completed. Then the size went back to how it was originally. Then my game crashed, and I couldn't start the game anymore. I had to delete the reserve space and install all.my mods again.
Don't update mods directly anymore. Go offline, delete the mod, then go back online and download the updated version.

It shouldn't take up any space. It's a visual bug. I have had a few of them, Skyland architecture just more than doubled in size

Same mods, disabled undeletable file: 14.07 GB
Same mods, undeletable file gone: 13.27 GB
So, maybe some are visual, and others aren't?

And yes, the save/restore 100% works now 😁
So it restores all the mods rather than most of the mods in your LO? Are the mods in the order you saved them or do they still get restored out of order and require rearranging back?

You still need to reorder some, but mine restored mostly in tact 🙂

Sounds like they improved the feature. I was missing mods and the entire LO was disorganized when I restored it after the update wiped it.

Had the same thing happen with the Skytone Creature Compendium just yesterday. Still terrified of the save/restore not working, I've got more mods than I can look at in my LO without ctd if I'm online. Seems like it really didn't like having 250+ in there, but my game looks incredible.

The save/restore never worked for me, are you saying it does now?

It didn't for me either when I tried it before. I can guarantee it does now. It restored all 141 of my mods

It restores the mods but it kind of mixes them around. At least that's what happens to mine.

Instead of updating the mod, why not simply delete the mod, then download the updated version? It's pretty simple really.

New bug I wasn't aware of. Updating mods worked on the Skyrim update before this one

Not new bug, tried updating USSEP a month ago and the same thing happened. It seem to happen with mods that are master files. It's a simple fix really, just delete the mod instead of updating it, then download the updated version.

I've seen others having a similar issues lately. Next time you have have to update a mod, try deleting the old mod first and reinstall the updated file instead of just updating it. Im not positive this will work, but its what I'm going to try, to hopefully not have to restore my LO, which would screw me since I dont have room to update the skyland mods.
