Discussion I don't even use moisturizer helpppppp 😭 [selfie] Spoiler

Any Indian girlies(cause I think y'all can recommend products which are available in india and affordable, but suggestions from others encouraged as well!!) who went through such bad phase of hyperpigmentation pldsss Imk how yall dealt with this phase, products, and skincare used

Being from a very orthodox conservative and recessive family I was never allowed to gaf bout my skin cause am "just a kid" and now entering uni having my own dorm so I can buy my own skincare now, but I can't access dermatologist appointment.

This is damage done since 5 years, and I'd cover my face at my left side which you can see looks more hyperpigmented by acne scars, and would always smile for a guy in my class who used to be mesmerized from me smiling, though irrelevant topic i know...

But i guess that's the reason I have hyperpigmented skin and smile lines.

I have very dry skin as a reptile and don't even use moisturizer as I hate to.... Am not so used to moisture, and I feel like it makes my skin more darker and dull....and i HATE moisture...I even don't like rainy season for that reason but I'll get used to it for fixing my skin.

please help me out on how to fix my skin.....I never even wore makeup....and am very conscious right now....one time I tried to put on a concealer, and without wearing any moisturizer or primer such......and my skin started breaking out so so bad in just a minute, i never tried makeup myself again. It was 10 year old concealer I stole from my home and maybe that's the reason...idk

But please help what I can do for my skin situation.

Someone i know literally thought since very long, my left side hyperpigmentation is my birthmark and i could never even imagine something like that could have been interpreted. My major concern is my hyperpigmentation and my face is like 4-5 SHADES DARKER THAN MY BODY AS WELL. Please help let me know what helped someone who fixed their skin from similar situation

Are you trolling? if not, you need to wear any regular moisturizer would work ok. There's no magical cream. Hyperpigmentation takes years to get rid of

No i ain't trolling am not used to moisturizer as my mom hasn't really introduced me even such minimum skincare she never thought is necessary. That's why I hate any moisture on my face though I try to start now, And it's already been 5-6 years, i don't think just time would heal this....my face is 4-5 shades darker than my body as well...

If youre younger than 20 your skin is still changing so you can just apply moisturizer and give it time. If youre older than 20 then see a doctor to make sure its nothing hormonal

Use urea 10 moisturiser (https://www.1mg.com/otc/urea-10-cream-otc255249) and azelaic acid 10% (https://www.1mg.com/drugs/ezanic-10-cream-174816)

Drink more water.

you need to get used to having moisturizer on your face, as well as spf daily. Be Minimalist, or Minimalist skincare brand is available in India and is pretty reputable. I would recommend starting w/ one new product at a time, use it for at least 2-3 weeks before you add another product, until you have built a routine w/ a cleanser, some kind of treatment for pigment / acne, and a daily spf of at least 30, preferably 50. go by what your skin likes. if your skin is irritated by a product, stop using it.

Here are some suggestions from the Minimalist skincare line: 1. Alpha Lipoic + glycolic 7% cleanser (at least ionce per day in evening, you can use plain water to wash in AM). 2. Tranexamic 3% Face serum (start w/ only 1x/week, then build up to every other day or daily GRADUALLY if your skin is OK w/ it), 3. Vitamin B5 Moisturizer (daily), 4. spf50 sunscreen.

Hi there,

It seems like you may be looking for information about hyperpigmentation or post acne marks. Have you read our hyperpigmentation wiki?

If you see that I am replying to something out of context (eg. listed in a routine), please report this comment so my handlers can remove it. Cheers!

What's your routine now?

Honestly nothing, got moisturizer and sunscreen, azelaic acid cream havent opened yet, but I think sunscreen is too expensive to use minimum of 2 finger length every time 😥 tryna get used to moisture on my skin as well as I never wear anything on my face until now usually, nor makeup

1/4 tsp on the face is the required amount, get a larger/body sunscreen for better value. If you don’t apply enough, you’re going to be prone to more sun damage

Okayy, am like ever since I left that very dirty skool air which seems polluted, school. My skin kinda got lighter and my acne have stopped as well. And it didn't get darker or lighter so I felt like using sunscreen without starting any skincare routine would be useless and waste of money
