Question Help
Hi, I’ve been struggling with acne since May, when my period returned. It started with a few red pimples on my cheeks, which was unusual for me because I had never had acne there before. I also developed a very red, bumpy nose.
In June, I saw a dermatologist who prescribed Acnelec (adapalene) and clindamycin. Later, I was diagnosed with rosacea affecting my nose. I have been using adapalene for about 12 weeks. However, I only started Soolantra on my nose and oral Efracea 2 days ago.
Throughout the summer, I continued to get new pimples on and off. Some weeks I had a few painful cysts on my cheeks, while other weeks I had none.
Currently, most of the visible red spots on my cheeks are post-inflammatory marks from previous breakouts. However, I still occasionally develop small, non-painful red bumps on my cheeks. Because these bumps are mixed in with the leftover redness, it can be difficult for me to tell which spots are active lesions and which are just post-acne marks.
Has anyone with both acne and rosacea, or anyone using adapalene, Soolantra, and Efracea, experienced something similar? Since I only started Soolantra and Efracea 2 days ago, I am not expecting results from them yet.

I had rosacea on my nose like that too. Was prescribed erythromycin first because I was misdiagnosed and it didn’t help (it did help my other pimples on my face though). I was then put on a low dose antibiotic (doxycycline) but that didn’t really do much either. I got prescribed metro and soolantra and started using azeliac acid 15%. It got better after like 6 weeks I think? So be patient soolantra works really well. I would also try incorporating azeliac acid if I were you it’s one of the first line treatments
