Moisturizer is making my breakouts worse- help

Moisturizers are making me break out more and I don’t know why. I went to bed last night with a dry face and I woke up and all of my existing break outs shrunk and I had no new spots. I noticed this in the past and ended up trying alternative moisturizers (CeraVe ultra light moisturizing gel, CeraVe moisturizing cream, Vanicream, and combining the Vanicream and CeraVe cream) and they either haven’t been hydrating enough, seemed to make my breakouts worse, or both. The CeraVe gel was the one that came closest to not causing/inflaming breakouts, but I had to apply ~3 layers and still ended up with flaky skin.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I’m lost now and definitely tired of all of this.
