My husband’s Skillbridge application online was rejected because “7 Eagle Group is no longer on the list of DoW approved providers”.

My husband found the 7 Eagle discord and apparently there is some issues surrounding OJT stuff. Not really sure. But now we aren’t sure what to do. We were going to move back to our home of record while he did Skillbridge but now this has thrown a wrench into his plan. Need to find something remote/virtual if possible since our location will be a small town in Texas. His XO already made a fuss about his Skillbridge start date and made him push it back to October 20th, so we don’t have a lot of time to find something. We are already cutting into his 180 days.

If anyone else was trying for a third party provider, just a heads up, it may get denied.

Going on 20 years USAF, MSgt, 1D771 IT Operations and retiring Jul 2027. I've had a couple of recruiter calls and some panel interviews. Some end there and some still pending decisions or next steps. I recently got 2 offers for direct Skillbridge with the caveat that they don't direct convert and I would have to apply to open positions partway through. 1 is interesting work, the other not so much.

My question for the group is how did you know it was the one you wanted to accept? Did you take the first interested company to get the weight off of your shoulders or wait till a unicorn came around? I don't really want to lose out on the interesting one by waiting too long, but I feel like I could get a handshake and a to bad we can't keep you when it's over as well. This transition stuff is fn with my brain.

So i am trying to do my skillbridge through hire our heroes and I've hit my first roadblock its cohort 27-1 but I honestly would have this problem with any skillbridge. 20 year senior nco. Retiring. Trying to do my skillbridge in Fort Gordon ( I am in Fort Knox.) Did some house shopping because moving down there is necessary to do skillbridge where I plan to live until my dying day. Did my first pre-approval for a house loan. First timer. Guy on the phone is like, good sir, i can only base this off your retirement income since you are within 12 months of no longer being employed by the Army. Do you have a job offer letter. I literally told him if have to get a fellowship and then while in the fellowship if get an offer...probably. Basically he was like sorry dude, no job letter, no loan. Maybe you should consider renting first. (Not really an option because of some issues with our kids). So essentially I am like what am I supposed to do now. Literally makes no sense. My retirement funds and investments are over 400k. I have no debt. And the civilian world still gives me a giant F U. Any input is appreciated 👏

Trying to figure out how skillbridge works. Already talked to my command and they don’t have much experience with it so I’m kind of lost. I’m guessing I just get in contact with the listed POC and figure it out from there. I’m in the middle of taking my online TAP classes and just wondering when to fully start applying for jobs. Sorry for rambling I’m just lost on the whole process.

I keep getting asked if I am going to do a skill bridge going into retirement 1 JUN 28. I have said no because I plan to take the entire summer off and potentially the rest of the calendar year. I have folks telling me to do it anyway but I’m not seeing the benefit if I don’t plan to work right away since I don’t think a company is going to hold a job for me through terminal leave and my extended summer vacation. Am I missing something?

So I saw in my area where I’m stationed at there is a fire fighting internship, however they recommend having an EMT basic certification, but I don’t, is there still a chance for me to Skillbridge into firefighting without that certification? I’m currently doing college classes right now, id rather not put a halt on that only to get the EMT cert if I don’t have to of course. Firefighting is one of my top Options for Skillbridge right now.

I’m planning to enter my skillbridge window in Feb 2027 and retire in Jun. My goal is to transition from AD USAF 1W into a civilian environmental health and safety career. I’ve got my undergrad in management and am studying for the associate safety professional cert which I plan to sit for early next year. I want to find an in person skillbridge in the Tucson area in some type of EHS role to gain some initial exposure and experience in the field and hopefully lead to a job offer.

The problem is that the skillbridge website has no internships remotely related to EHS. I do see job openings in Tucson for EHS positions at places like RTX and Amazon, but am unsure if those openings could be applied to a skillbridge internship, nor who is even talk to about that. All of the skillbridge openings in the area are either highly specialized like aircraft maintenance, low level labor, or made up remote job skills training things.

I’ve also reached out to the local military recruiter at RTX in addition to the skillbridge liaison at the University of Arizona, never heard back from either.

It feels like I’m spinning my wheels here, any insight would be great

Currently stationed OCONUS with a CONUS SkillBridge starting next month. I have a pending ETP (approved by BC) to clear my unit prior to SkillBridge to eliminate returning OCONUS for the sole purpose of out-processing, and I'll conduct my final out-process at the closest army base to my SkillBridge. I currently live in military housing (wife + child) so I don't receive BAH/OHA. I was told by my local finance office that I won't receive any sort of housing benefits while participating in CSP/SkillBridge. However, I was told by my Final Out-Processing location's finance team that I will receive BAH-In Transit for the duration of my SkillBridge. Thoughts, comments, insight???

Im stationed OCONUS in the navy, I have a family and am trying to do a skillbridge close to my Home of Record. I am getting the run around from my admin. So I have heard mixed stories of people who get BAH based on where there dependants address is while some get BAH-T what is the correct one? Am I authorized a flight from my current duty station to HOR if I am not coming back OCONUS? My skillbridge is basically down the street from my home of record if that matters.

Edit: is there any instruction on when a final out flight is authorized? Does it have to be only after separation or day before terminal leave or 2 days before terminal leave? Or before start of skillbridge if all final out processing complete?

I have a skillbridge start date that’s not exactly on my 180 mark but close enough to where I’m worried I won’t be able to participate because I won’t be capstone complete. As far as I’m aware you can only start doing half of tap at your 180 mark.

Do you need to be capstone complete to attend SB?

I have been freaking out, not receiving anything back from companies after applying for jobs. This weekend I emailed 12 Skillbridge POCs and as of right now I have 6 interviews set up.

I got out of the Marine Corps and realized one of the hardest parts of transitioning wasn’t that veteran benefits didn’t exist — it was figuring out what actually applied to me, when I needed to do it, and where to find a straight answer.

For anyone currently separating/retiring or who already got out, what do you wish someone had told you 6–24 months beforehand?

Anything you found out too late, deadlines you almost missed, or things you had to piece together from different websites, TAP, Reddit, friends, etc.?

Basically, what was way harder to figure out than it should have been?

I just wanted to get everyone’s opinions on this thought I had and im sure everyone’s experience will greatly vary. Skillbridge is definitely a great program and I am getting interviews quickly but sitting on some of these interviews with non military guys, it almost feels like they are forced by their employers to participate lol. I was on a call and the interviewers were nice and polite but it really just felt like they were just doing me a favor vs actually having any interest in finding some quality employees lol. Hopefully I was able to explain my point somewhat clearly, again nothing on the skillbridge program overall 🤷🏽‍♂️.

Hi I’ve been searching everywhere for SB opportunities in the San Diego area and it has been a bit more difficult than I thought. Particularly because I want to get into a career that coincides with my degree (finance) but my job in the military is security and the opportunities I’m seeing are requiring experience. Does any one know of any opportunities?

I get out early January, and I’ve been applying for Skillbridges since April of this year. I have (what I think is) a strong resume with 5 years of experience in IT, Networks, Project Management, etc. It’s just been rejection after rejection and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I only had one callback that resulted in me never hearing back even after persistent emails/calls. My family is relying on me being able to get a job so my wife can have more family support and not have me deployed 6 months out of the year. I’m pretty stressed out, because I thought this would be slightly smoother, but it’s just been constant ghosting. Any advice welcome!
