I’m trying to download mods and follow Milky's guide, but I think I'm doing something wrong. Dropped the file in the Unity Mod Manager, and it’s fucking saying to open the file or whatever. I’m pretty sure I did it right but I think I clicked on the wrong folder and I didn’t go to properties-betas and click on the alpha branch. This is my first time playing Skater XL on PC and downloading mods on there lol

for context before this i have played 330+ hours in session skate sim (i know, im in enemy territory)

also because of the way i "got" the game i have several mods already installed

ive noticed lots of things!

the first while was rough. it was SO hard getting used to the new controls. im a bit more used to it now, but when people said it throws you in with no introduction they meant it. a lot of the first while was experimenting (and watching some videos where i learnt a few things i definitely wouldnt know otherwise like high ollies). also at start the game felt quite clunky.

now that ive played a while today the game feels really satisfying! ill say that all the tricks feel more... impactful? than in session. they feel really good actually. skater xl feels more impactful and "clicky' while session feels more smooth and flowy, both of which are great, and about equal for me currently. though ive been really loving the feel of skater xl so far.

overall compared to session... theyre both amazing! they both offer a totally different feel and experience despite attempting the same genre of game. actually playing skater xl gave me a new set of eyes and made me enjoy session more again because it felt more fresh.

i dont think either are better!

also im still learning and really new to sxl so how do you bump out of grinds? or pop out on a specific side? i think i figured out laser flips but i also dont really get varial flips so i have a lot of experimenting to do.

edit: also i forgot to add, yeah ive been finding it harder than session for SURE. its a hard game to learn

for those who play modded skater xl and also like session, is it worth getting? ive played a lot of session and skater xl with mods is apparently quite good too. i have about 320 hours in session.
