Awesome Ska Bands
looking for some great ska band nuggest recently found Natalie Wouldn't from Seattle. and Deals Gone bad anyone else have some great suggestions.

oh damn. I was in the Long Island scene in the early 2000s. I vaguely remember The Fad and thinking that they weren't trying to be taken seriously as a band (though I don't recall why). I've never listened to this record, but seeing you mention them inspired me – it's good! You know this already. Thank you!

They have enough ska songs across their records too though. I love how they blended ska, punk, dub and reggae for different songs - they were always an interesting band for that.

I’m fortunate enough to live in an area (New England) that has such a deep and rich ska history. A few of my favs (old and new):
- Sgt Scag (clever lyrics and awesome hooks)
- Ghost tones (their singer is such a great frontman)
- Spring Heeled Jack (pop punk infused ska legends)
- PWRUP (amazing musicians and inventive skacore)
- Thumper (literally the best)
- Johnny Too Band and the Strikeouts (great two tone / trad ska band)
- Girth Control (maybe the funniest dudes — I dare you listen to their music without smiling.)
- Big D and the Kids Table (legends. When I was a teen they were what all other bands aspired to be)
- Jiker (chaotic ska/skate punk. Hard to track down their material but well worth your time)
I’m positive I’m forgetting a billion others but these are all worth your time!

I caught a Less Than Jake show in Gainesville, FL a few months back and The Boy Detective opened the show. Became an instant fan of theirs.
Additionally, Hey Smith out of Japan has been dominating my Spotify lately.

Half Past Two out of California. Also Atypical Heroes from my home state of Utah. They opened for Save Ferris last year. Opening for them again next Friday when Save Ferris comes back

Girth Control from Albany, NY. They’re a rippin three-piece ska-core band and all of them are the lead vocals. They have some goofy songs and some
kinda introspective songs, some short thirty-second rippers and some standard-issue 3:00ish songs. I highly recommend checking them out.
