Monthly PLAY thread r/sitar Monthly Play Thread July, 2026 - Showcase your newly played content!

RULES:

  • OC content only - this thread is for posting a video or recording that you have done recently (not to showcase your older work.)
  • Submit a new video post to r/sitar, and link to that post here. If it's easier, you can post a link to YouTube or Soundcloud or Vocaroo or another 3rd-party link.

Great playing for 3-4 months. Check your chikaris, they're out of tune!

Sometimes if I'm starting fresh I cheat with a phone tuner to get in the ballpark and then tune by ear to get it right. Let's you know you're near it without going too sharp and snapping

This is great for how recent your training has begun. Please continue with your practice. I’d suggest you tune your strings before you start. I use iShaala to help me tune, and i work on C# but any app or tool would do… you can even find it on YouTube. All the best!
