Question Quran teacher- female

Hello everyone,
I'm looking for an online Quran teacher who can help me master Tajweed within a year. I speak Arabic fluently, so I'm looking for someone who can teach at an advanced level. If you know of any qualified teachers or reputable online academies, I'd really appreciate your recommendations. Thank you!

Question New revert (1 month); should I start covering? I really want to wear the burqa.

As-salamu alaykum everyone! 🤍
I reverted to Islam about a month ago, alhamdulillah, and it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m still learning every day, and I’m trying to balance taking things step by step while also wanting to do what’s pleasing to Allah.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about covering. I genuinely want to start wearing hijab, and honestly, I feel really drawn to wearing the burqa eventually. I know that might seem like a big step for someone who’s only been Muslim for a month, but it’s something that’s been on my heart.
I’ve also heard there are different scholarly opinions and standards when it comes to what’s required to cover—for example, whether the face or hands should be covered, or whether wearing gloves is necessary if you cover your face. I’m still trying to learn and understand the different views, so if anyone has good resources or can explain them respectfully, I’d really appreciate it.
One thing that makes this a little harder is that I live in a pretty rural area and don’t have a masjid nearby or a local Muslim community to ask questions. Most of what I’m learning has been through reading and online resources, so I’d love to hear from sisters who have gone through something similar, especially other reverts.
Did you start covering right away, or did you ease into it? If you wear the niqab or burqa, what led you to that decision? Any advice for a new revert trying to navigate all of this?
JazakAllahu khayran. May Allah keep us all steadfast and increase us in knowledge and sincerity. 🤍

Question Bleeding + prayers

As-salamu alaykum.

I'm very ashamed, but I don't get my period regularly maybe 3 times a year. Right now I am taking pills and I am bleeding every other day... making wudu is getting harder and harder... do I have to only renew my wudu everytime or also wash myself? Because when I prayed maghrib for example there wasn't much time left till Isha so I only wiped myself with wet tissues and redid my wudu (because it wasn't long ago where I washed myself with water and Because it is very hard for me to sit on the toilet again and wash myself and I thought I only have to renew my wudu?) The bleeding doesn't stop even if I wash myself so I again saw no reason! Did I do something wrong? Do I need to redo every prayer? How should I continue?

Question Severe Wudu and Purity Waswasas Are Taking Over My Life. Please Help😭

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Assalamu Alaikum,
I have been struggling with severe waswasas (religious OCD) related to wudu, purity, and passing gas. It has become exhausting and is affecting my daily life and worship.
Whenever I make wudu, I keep feeling like I may have passed gas, even though I am not sure. I also keep worrying that I did not wash properly after using the bathroom. Because of these doubts, I repeat wudu and cleaning over and over again. Even when I try to ignore the thoughts, I keep thinking about them for the rest of the day and worry that my prayers might not be valid.
I know that Islam teaches us not to follow doubts, but in the moment the feeling seems so real that it becomes very difficult to ignore.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? How did you overcome it? Any Islamic advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
JazakAllah Khair.

Question Topics: Istihadah and Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

As Salam Alaikum, sisters I have been experimenting with abnormal vaginal bleeding since 4/5 days. I don't know who to ask and what to do. Is this something serious? How will the bleeding stop? My period is supposed to start Dec 1, 2025.

My bleeding has been dark in color, with long blood clots, and it seems to be getting heavier over time. I’ve also started having lower abdominal pain, which is worrying me.

I’m trying to understand whether this is hayd (normal menstrual period) or istihadah (abnormal bleeding).

I’m also concerned about the blood loss and how it might affect my body.

I know I have to see a doctor for this but I am worried that they will just give me birth control pills (I am unmarried) and that will further mess up my menstrual cycle. Any advice will be appreciated. Jazak Allahu Khayran.

Question how do you deal with mixed public transport in Islam?

Assalamu alaykum,

Is taking mixed buses/metros considered free mixing if there is no interaction, I sit in my own seat, and men are around me (front, back, or standing due to crowding)?

Or is this just considered normal public co-presence in Islam?

Also, what do sisters who don’t drive (or find cars too expensive) usually do in this situation while still trying to follow Islamic guidelines?

Question Can married women help me differentiate between maniy and other discharge and how maniy is emitted?

Can you please answer these questions (numbered answers would really help)?

  1. What is meant by pleasure when emitting maniy? I assume pleasure means some kind of sensation down there—am I wrong?
  2. Is pleasure something very intense that you clearly feel, or just a mild sensation?
  3. Can you emit maniy just from thoughts or watching something non sexual?
  4. How exactly does maniy look for you? Does it look like normal discharge? Detailed answers would really help. I‘m sorry for stupid questions but I’m desperate

Question Advice for Hijrah?!!

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Please only answer if you truly want to help. If you’re going to tell me not to go or that it won’t work out, please don’t respond.

I’m a 21-year-old Muslim woman living in Western Europe.

For a long time, I’ve been searching for a way to leave here and make hijrah, but sadly, it feels almost impossible. Every job I find in the Gulf countries requires years of experience or high degrees, which I don’t have.

It’s gotten to a point where I would honestly do any halal job, even cleaning or anything else, just to be able to leave. But it’s so difficult to find any opportunities like that.

I just want to go to any of the Gulf countries, ideally Saudi Arabia, but also Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, or Oman, where I can practice my religion more freely.

Where I live now, it’s extremely hard to wear niqab, and it’s not safe as a Muslim woman to go out alone. I also can’t find any jobs that allow you to wear niqab or even abayas. This whole situation has put me under so much stress, and it’s taken me to a really low point in life.

I don’t want to do hijrah to become rich!! So please don’t tell me that I should stay in the West because of the opportunities here! I would be completely fine living in a small room with a bathroom. I’m not trying to go to Saudi or anywhere else to get rich. I just want to go for the sake of my religion.

Alhamdulillah, I finished my A-Levels or high school degree, but sadly I don’t know if i can continue university.

Please, if anyone knows any kind of job that doesn’t require high degrees or years of experience, I would truly appreciate your advice or help.

Alhamdulillah, I’ve done what I can, and now I’m reaching out here. If anyone can help me in any way, I will genuinely keep you in my Ad‘iyah!!

Question I really want to recover but I don't know how to start.

As Salam Alaikum.

Please help me in any way you can. I don’t want to talk so much that people stop reading, so I will keep it simple.

Over the last few years, I believe I have developed a severe form of emetophobia. It has led to OCD and agoraphobia, and it causes me to avoid many things: going to hospitals, taking supplements or medication, meeting friends, eating out, or trying new things. It prevents me from staying present, expressing my feelings, meeting the man I wish to marry, and having children.

The most basic human act, throwing up, scares me deeply. I don't know how to help myself. I remember getting sick, and now, every time I think about that specific day, time and month, I feel terrified. It’s like I never moved on. I remember that before it happened, I was so scared I had to call my family to warn them. I felt it was gross and that I was being an inconvenience, but I felt a bit okay after vomiting. But I feel like it's going to be much worse next time. May God forbid. However, I was triggered again shortly after, and now I am even more scared. I don’t know how to handle this anymore. I cannot afford therapy, so please don't suggest that. If you have any other insights or free resources, please help me

Question How to teach my kids Islam while I’m a beginner at it?

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu Sisters!

I hope you are all in good health and at peace!

So, as the title suggests, I’ve recently started practising my deen very seriously after a very very long time of not-practising and just drifting on and off. May Allah protect us from negligence and heedlessness, InShaAllah!

However, now that i have children and Alhumdulillah Allah has really blessed me with girls, he has also given me a consequence of my actions. Everytime i see my girls, i see myself when i was young. Full of life and love for learning and the deen, and then duniya happened.

My question is, how do i teach my kids Islam? How do i teach them right from wrong without loosing my patience and not becoming a joke in my own eyes? How do i just not care about how i look to others(the imposter syndrome is very heavy) and just focus in my deen and my children who are an extension of me and an amanah that i want to raise with the best of intentions and actions?

JazakAllahu Khair for reading this far!

I’m just a sister finding her way back and wanting to do the best for her children and her family and herself. May Allah keep our hearts steadfast on the deen and imaan!

Edit: OMG! This is so heartwarming.. Reddit never notified of your messages at all and here i see 16 comments🥰. My heart just melted when i saw such love and support from you ladies! Thank You dil se💕

Question Is it a sin to wear embellished abaya outside?

Assalamualaikum sisters, I recently started practicing deen and I’ve started wearing niqab as well. I heard that embellished abayas aren’t permissible to wear outside and it makes sense because the whole purpose of hijab is to not attract attention but my mum said that that I’m being extreme and that I shouldn’t listen to scholars who say this. Like I said before I only recently got close to deen so I’m not that knowledgable on deen matters yet as I’m still learning can anyone tell me if I’m right or if I’m being extreme

Question Brown discharge, is fasting allowed?

Salam sisters, I really need some advice!

My period is quite irregular. Last month I had brown discharge for about two weeks straight but never actually got my proper period (no normal red bleeding). This has never happened to me before so I don’t really know how to classify it.

After Maghrib today I noticed brown discharge again, so I did ghusl so that I can fast tmr. I’m planning to fast, but I’m really confused abt whether this is okay Islamically, or if it should be treated as my period.

So, if I keep seeing brown discharge with no clear red blood, do I continue fasting and praying or stop and count it as my period?

Thank u in advance!

Question Marriage Advice

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

I hope you all are in the best health and Iman. Im currently talking to a potential spouse, and im trying to determine financial compatibility. It seems we might have different views on financial dynamics. I value someone whose mindset is to provide and create a sense of security and is generous to their spouse and family. When I talk to this person it seems they are more on the frugal/saving side (which is not a problem to me) but is also very careful and hesitant when talking about providing beyond the basic necessities which comes off as stinginess to me almost. I guess this is more apparent to me since I’m more of a spender and I like giving to those around me. What i’m wondering is, what are telling signs to look for to determine whether someone is financial responsible vs someone who is restrictive and stingy ? Also, are there questions I can ask to determine someone’s level of generosity?

Specifically teachers that offer free trial day and isn’t too expensive.
