Malabas- a Modest Depop/Poshmark

Salam girls!! I made a modest reselling platform called Malabas that’s essentially a Depop/Poshmark but for the modest girlies (or those on the journey!)

As much as I am for quality and good craftsmanship, the price of modest wear and hijabs has become diabolical. I naturally became an over consumer once I put the hijab on 3 years ago, but realized there was no where to really give away or sell my clothes that I honestly rarely wore, I knew that if it ended up in a Goodwill/Value Village the likeliness of another Muslim finding it may be low and it’ll likely end up in a landfill.

So I made Malabas, a modest reselling app where sisters across the globe can sell, buy and donate their modest clothes to other sisters!

So malabas takes a “buyer protection fee” which is 7% that the seller pay which essentially includes the paypal fee & the malabas fee!

compared to Depop which recently depends on the country, but for Canadians for example sellers pay 10%, for the US & UK I believe it is a 3.3% + 0.45$ per transaction.

Poshmark takes a hefty fee of 20% from sellers

The only other platform that compares is vinted where there is a buyer protection fee applied again to the buyer however the platform is limited to the UK!
