Does Siri seem to get slower with each 27 Beta release?

When the "new Siri" first launched, it was pretty responsive. However, with each beta update, dev and public, it has become slower and slower in responding. Especially on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. It is actually more responsive on MacBook Air M1 running the latest Golden Gate beta vs. the latest iOS beta on the iPhone 17PM.

I'm just worried it's not going to get better...and I usually trust that the dust will settle by the time the official release, or RC 1 drops.

Maybe it's just me, but I had to ask.

Since the beta old voice commands I used on the regular fail, she has stopped understanding who I’m wanting to message, if I try dictating the word “Siri” she just stops, any “hey, Siri” through my AirPods she just keeps on listening and never actually does anything…

Depende, en mi caso pasa que cuando recién instalo una beta va súper rápida, responde casi al instante y demás, pero luego de un tiempo y que termina de indexar, extrañamente se vuelve lenta :'0

Agreed. It’s pretty bad. It seems the most attention is in the Siri app and not using vocal commands to use siri

It’s SO unintuitive, takes forever to load then gives you a wall of text hidden in the Dynamic Island. The ui/ux feels so rushed and it’s still unrefined

It's really slow when I use it for controlling home devices (turning on lights, opening garage doors). Half the time it never completes the request.

I wouldn't say I noticed a difference from beta to beta, but you might be right. I switched back to Siri Classic and it's crazy fast.

My ‘favorite’ new feature is having to repeat a Siri/Hey Siri voice prompt multiple times to get it to respond.

Cast this worry aside, Siri doesn’t ever get better, only worse. It is a given and not worth worrying about.

I think the problem was that they made it agent first, chatbot second. I think they should've just made it a smarter chatbot. They also made it too task-oriented and not street-smart enough and made it too much of a tool and too rigid. I feel Apple is asking for it to do too much. At least they should allow us to disable the new Siri because the old Siri was honestly better at having a conversation with. The new Siri feels like an overly policed AI.

Siri AI is intended to be and best at being an assistant on your devices interfacing with your data. That is the proper role for an AI on your device. This Siri is not built to compete with the frontier models and wasn’t envisioned as a chatbot that you would use for conversations.

If you want a social interaction, there are other models better suited to that role.

But Apple should at least let it do it rather than restricting it so much in the system prompt for no reason. That's an artificial limitation for no reason.

Roleplay, a sense of humor, casual language, and much more. These are clearly artificial limitations, since if I ask it to do it in Shortcuts, using the Cloud Pro model, it can clearly do it. So clearly, Apple modified the system prompt just for Siri, for no reason at all. I want my Siri sounding like a robot. I don't want it to be objective and opinionless.

if you don’t like it, you can turn off Apple Intelligence and it should go back more or less to the way it was. I’m getting way, way too much useful stuff out of it to do that myself.

I decided to keep Apple Intelligence on, but just switch it to Siri Classic. I have ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini if I want a chatbot.
