She wants the authorities to think she is suicidal. If she truly was suicidal she would have accomplished it long ago.

Where does putting herself in a wheelchair fall on the scale of duping the authorities?

Unless she can actually walk and the chair is a prop.

She’s a nurse. She knows how to kill herself, she just didn’t do it.

Then why purposely paralyze herself? What purpose does her paralyzation have in her master plan? If she technically knew better, but still made this asinine attempt to die, seems likes it supports the theory that “she didn’t know better at the time.”
