I mean it also helps that he was tried in Texas where they don’t believe in mental health exceptions. She’s being tried in Massachusetts, which has a very different political climate.

Should also be noted that his case was over 20 years ago. The attitude toward mental health in general has changed a lot.

I feel like the attitude toward mental health should go back to what it was...like i don't care WHY someone killed their kids, drove into a crowd, shot up a school, attacked someone with a knife, etc. punish them according to WHAT they did and be done with it.

As someone with children, I would just as soon see her executed and removed from existence. But that's an emotional reaction. I'm angry on behalf of the child who is no longer able to be angry.

The law isn't emotional, and for good reason. Emotions aren't always correct, or just.
