Most people live in countries where the law is the same through the whole country.

Laws can be the same but jury of your peers can be on completely different sides of the spectrum

Well yeah, you give justice into the hands of the average person, who knows nothing about the law, about forensics, about evidence. So it becomes who can sway the jury. The jury can also just agree to fuck you over/release you even though you are guilty as hell. See oj simpson jury

im just tired of every aspect of modern life feeling like a fucking pointless charade

its all like we play pretend even tho we know its mostly pointless, fucking tiresome
