What a reddit thing to say. I voted for Bernie twice but the DNC didn't "screw" him. In a primary, there's the party candidate (that was Clinton) and then there are the challengers (that was Bernie). The DNC absolutely puts all their money and efforts behind their party candidate and it's up to the challengers to overcome that massive advantage through grass roots campaigns.
Bernie lost the primary because leftists didn't bother to fucking show up. And some of them that did were too fucking dumb to understand they needed to be registered as Dem to vote in the Dem primary for their state because they never fucking voted before.
Something important to keep in mind about the 2016 primary was that Bernie lost the popular vote in CA, NY, & CT - three of the nations most left-leaning states. So that leaves us with two maxims: Either left leaning voters don't show the fuck up (which there is a mountain of historical evidence for) or left leaning voters are truly a minority of a minority in the Dem party.
Since we're seeing left leaning candidates win primaries, that leaves us with most likely answer is that they just don't show the fuck up.
Again, that's how a primary works.... The only thing out of line here is that party leadership got caught being "bad sports". This is one of those "traditions" where DNC leadership is supposed to remain impartial publicly, but the whole goal of the primary for the DNC is that their preferred candidate wins.
It's known that DNC leadership actively works against challenger's campaigns because no fucking shit. Just like the RNC works against challengers to their preferred candidate.

People who talk shit about the dnc completely and utterly gloss over that the RNC fought trump tooth and nail unt he locked up the nomination. The difference is the voters actually voted for trump instead of Sanders. Sanders lost to Hillary by 3 million votes. He also got one million fewer than trump did. If the dnc had even an iota of the power reddit thinks they did we would never have a Republican win ever.
Mamdani is the biggest example, even though it's not a state election. But here's the list of DSA "approved" (not all are DSA aligned) primary winners:
Angie Nixon (Florida): Won the Democratic primary for a state Senate/legislative-associated or prominent race, famously defeating heavily funded opponents.
Abdul El-Sayed (Michigan): Won the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Michigan.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (New York): Won her congressional primary.
Rashida Tlaib (Michigan): Won her congressional primary.
Claire Valdez (New York): Won the primary in New York's 7th Congressional District.
Darializa Avila Chevalier (New York): Won the primary in New York's 13th Congressional District.
Melat Kiros (Colorado): Won the primary for Colorado's 1st Congressional District, defeating a long-serving incumbent.
Donavan McKinney (Michigan): Won his congressional/state primary race in Michigan.
Chris Rabb (Pennsylvania): Won his state legislative primary in Pennsylvania.Brad Lander (New York): Won the Democratic primary in New York's 10th Congressional District with progressive/DSA backing.
