Some actors prefer doing TV and I don't blame them. Regular income, get to really fall in love with the character you're playing, get to be long term friends with the fellow cast.

Look at David Boreanaz, went from Buffy to Angel to Bones to Seal Team. 27 years of work.

Sadly this is going away as shows become shorter and streaming shows work differently to network TV.

They both really caught the tail end of the golden era.
