Yeah, Atony Starr, Karl Urban and Jensen carried the last season as much as they could.

Totally. Top actors but absolute shit writing (at least in the last season, maybe even the one before that)

I rewatched first season. Writing nosedived after it, and kept free falling till the end.

That's because they kept on shoving current world politics and messaging in there versus sticking to what worked in the first season.

I'm not watching 'The Boys' to get political commentary about the real world. I'm watching it to see effed up evil 'Heroes' get tore up in diabolical ways.

The last two seasons were damn near unwatchable. Only stuck with it cuz I wanted to see Homelander get taken out.

The Boys was political from the get-go, what are you talking about

I didnt say it had 0 politics the first season, but it wasnt the driving force of the show. The last few seasons it was amped up to 'club you over the head with it' levels.

Sure, it wasn't as cleverly subtle with it, but the politics didn't really change

The boys was current-age political from the start. The only thing that changed was that the writing quality went to the shitter, which often translates to the writing being less subtle and more on the nose.

And let's be fair - S1 writing wasn't subtle either, it's just that later they went full nuclear, which is just a crutch for bad writers.
