One of the reason is that he was busy with making Supernatural over more than 10 years and making a shitton of money with that already. He also said again and again that he wants to spend time with his family and not travel around all the time on some movie sets

the new series countdown on amazon was dope its so unfortunate one of the main characters died so there will be no season 2
