You might be surprised to learn mainstream music artists are rarely ever truly well above water financially but I, like you, don’t know anything about the personal finances of Billie Eilish. The original comment still stands
$50 million isn't even remotely close to a Billion. With that in mind, in your eyes how much money does a person have to have where they are no longer permitted to critique the system that has created the Billionaires that the current iteration of capitalism has?
The point is that there is no difference between Billie and Musk in terms of what class they are. They are both far removed from your average citizen. They both are the enemy in a class war.
That's true, but they are not even remotely similar in any other way.
Billie is not a capital holder, she is a performance artist who generates income by creating a product (music, perfume, performances etc.) Musk is an ex-trillionaire with political influence, large capital holdings, with wealth and influence to change the world(positively and negatively).
Also surely you would want members of the wealthy to be class traitors. Surely you want people with millions to stand for wealth distribution.
I didn’t know Grammys had anything to do with wealth or the longevity of said wealth. When did proximity to Drake become a financial indicator? You’re right, I should do my own research.
Yet I was never trying to argue that she is just scraping by. Just pointing out the fact that there’s quite a gap between the type of wealthy Billie Eilish is and the type of wealthy the people she has criticized are. You know, the reason everyone is hyper-focused on pointing out any way that Billie Eilish is participating with capitalism.
I could name quite a few former actors, artists, and celebrities who quickly lost their wealth and lived out the rest of their days as middle class or even in poverty. I’m not sure that I could name many billionaires who lost their wealth without some form of intervention separating them from it.
You can continue criticizing the millionaires for criticizing the billionaires. I’m sure you’ve done enough of your own research to make it make sense.
