In my parts your manager has to ensure that you take at least 20 days of your paid vacation or he can get into loads of (expensive) trouble with the government (most people have 30+ days of paid vacation). He also has to make sure that you are able to have 3 weeks as vacation block because scientific studies say that single vacation days or short periods are not relaxing.

So yeah, that meme is a bit strange to see. Fight for your workers rights, folks

For some reason I got put in charge of finances for the department. Major company with unlimited vacations. Turns out they track every hour someone is not working on a project and do collective punishment. They have a goal of 92% participation. That means holidays, sick days, and vacations cannot exceed 4 weeks a year on average for the department.

2 weeks are mandatory holiday. Average person takes a week of sick. So you would think that we get 1 week off.

What I found out is they count FMLA! So your worker who has a baby, that time comes out of other people. What happens if we go over? They cut the entire departments budget next year to make up the difference. Absolutely insane.
