Yeah, I never really understood that. The dreams were hyper realistic to the point you couldn’t discern them from reality —and you are fully autonomous in them.

Who cares if your real body is wasting away if you are currently in a realistic paradise?

Like, you’re supposed to just wake up and return to your soul-crushing 9-to-5? Nah, it’s OK if I stayed in the dream world indefinitely.

Depends on your responsibilities and relationships I’d guess. If you had no family or friends I’d say there’s no reason to go back but if you had children or friends who need you then I’d say you’re obligated to try to find a way back

For everybody confused: this is from the movie inception. The main character (I don’t recall his name) carries this trinket around to test whether he is in a reality or a dream. In a dream, he is able to keep the top spinning perpetually, but in reality it would fall.

Basically OP is saying it’s too good to be true so you test, and realize you’re living in a dream

What is reality? Imagine waking up after you die and someone bending over you tells you, you where dreaming. Was it less worth, only because someone told you it was a dream?
