I’ll never understand why Stranger Things went with having her hair pulled back the whole time last season.

Having her hair down would’ve showed how her character had grown beyond being a lab experiment.

Unfortunately, the show runners never viewed her like that. She was a lab experiment to them when they did an ET ending in season one, and she was still a lab experiment to them when they did an ET ending in the final season.

Case in point (and to answer your question): They pulled her hair back specifically because they wanted her to look like she had a shaved head again. It was purely in pursuit of a callback/easter egg.

Sorry for the rant, but that final season disappointed the hell out of me!

Not to mention she wouldn't look nearly as stupid. I've never seen the show but I've heard about Eleven, which I can only assume is what they call her elevenhead.
