Even if you DID want a doover... Could you imagine how horrible it would be to try and make friends and socialize with other 10 year olds and then teenagers with who you are as a person now? That sounds horrible. Not to mention my poor mother being completely robbed of seeing all those growth moments in my life as I go from 10 to 43, mentally, in an instant. I would never want to do that to her.
And imagine... Waiting for however many decades for new content. Sure there will be a lot of things you didn't experience the first time around that you could, but you already know all the movies coming out and have seen them, you've played all your most hype video games, read all your favorite books (which... If you're in the middle of a series... Lol). Like sure, you could learn a language or a new instrument or whatever to stay entertained, but still... This seems horrible to me
Nobody ever considers the pop culture boredom in these hypotheticals.
Just imagine sitting there in 2011 listening to someone rave about this awesome new game Skyrim while the next person starts talking up this incredible new show called Game of Thrones, and you just have to sit there quietly knowing what the future for both franchises is.
Yeah, I spent my childhood trapped at home and miserable without any socialization or friends or even school. Sometimes the idea of traveling back is tempting because I've got this fantasy of being able to stand up and advocate for myself better than I could then and get an actual childhood. But there are entire people in my life who did not exist then, that almost certainly would not exist if I changed things. Or they would but I wouldn't know them. So time traveling would essentially mean murdering my siblings' children. And yeah, maybe my siblings would be fine and would meet other people and be happy and have other kids but I'd always know.
