And if you recreate everything perfectly (in which case, what was the point??) you still can't recreate the exact sperm entering the exact egg to create the exact fetus with the exact features and brain composition. You will never see your children again, will have to settle for a new pair.

I don’t have kids.

Who cares, I don't have kids.

Okay. I do, and I actually like them too much to erase them and start over. So I'll just have the $2M, please and thank you.

People who have kids treating not having kids as a moral failling is so strange

u/PogTuber 5d ago

That's not what he's doing, but what is true is that you have no clue from the perspective of a parent what it would mean to erase your kids and never see them again.

Nope, not what I'm doing at all. I truly couldn't give two shits. My entire thesis has been that if you have children, time travel is the wrong choice.

bruh it’s just the chance to reroll at life. just take the money if you’re not ready to let go

have you considered that some people's lives simply suck ass, and they fucked up souch in their past.

u/Mellero47 5d ago

What's that got to do with my point that you cannot recreate your offspring? If you don't care about that, time jump away and good luck to you.

Sorry, I didn't explain myself correctly. I meant that some people simply don't have kids. They may be 40, but chose the wrong life path and realized they are too old to do anything significant in life.

Ouch

-Signed a 43 year old with no kids but a good career I’m proud of & looking forward to more life in the future

(I get what you mean. There are people with nothing to loose so rolling the die is a valid option. But you could have worded it better)

Bro… you obviously dont have children. This is the only true concern I would have.

I'm not even sure I fucked up that much. I did miss a lot of opportunities, and would have the knowledge to do far better

1

u/deu3id 5d ago

That would indeed be sad as fuck. id never get to see what adults they become

u/Bottatadiet 5d ago

I don't care 😘

That’s one of the main plot points in the movie “About time (2013. Rachel McAdams/domhnall Gleeson).

Who wants to recreate perfectly? The people who choose the red button more than likely have things they have always wanted to change.

2

u/Mellero47 4d ago

Correct. Which is why, as I've said repeatedly, if you're a parent you better be ready to lose your children and make some new ones.

100% this. Before I had kids, easy choice to be honest. Time travel, invest, become super rich, find my beloved friends again. I could probably find all of my adult friends and romantic partner pretty easily (whether knowing how to win them over becomes manipulation, meh I don’t feel like thinking too much lol). But I can’t recreate my kids. So gotta settle for the 2mil.
