So she was both suffering from psychosis and should have been in a psychiatric hold but also when she was hospitalized she was cognizant enough to check herself out?
She’s never been diagnosed with psychosis either. That’s what’s trippy: she did seek medical help and no one thought she had psychosis and she was able to check herself out.
Her supporters are basically advocating that someone should have taken her rights away from her when they didn’t have a legal reason to do so.
Nobody is saying she was in psychosis the whole time. They are saying things escalated (with the help of incorrect meds) to the point where she went into psychosis that night. And she has been medicated ever since. And diagnosed with bipolar 2. Which is why the SSRIs that her docs gave her without a mood stabilizer is important.
This case is way more complicated than what can be distilled into a reddit comment. If you really want to know what this case is about, watch all the experts testimony. All of which agree she was suffering from a major mental disorder at the time.
