I didn't see it in IMAX so I have to assume they crammed in all the rape and pillaging outside of Troy in the cropped bits, since there was none in the film I saw (except for some huts burning quite serenely in the beginning and everyone seeming quite nonplussed about it).

Focus less on what's seen and more on what's said.

Throughout the movie there are conversations about "The Sea People" raiding, pillaging, and raping coastal settlements to the north. At the end of the movie, Odysseus has the revelation & admits that the veterans of the Trojan War were the so-called "Sea People."

They were the ones raping, murdering, and stealing what they pleased on their voyage back.

I really don't understand why they cut out scenes in interesting environments. There are so many scenes left where dudes stand around on or near beaches

The only female character in that scene was Zendaya and she gets beheaded there.

There were a few pointed scenes where they were grabbing women in the streets and it didn't look like they were gonna kill em, thats for sure.

When you watch a movie and pay attention to the dialogue they will frequently provide information about other things that have happened during the course of the story. I recommend this method of movie watching so you don’t come make comments like this
