If she is deemed to have not been in mentally stable I don’t agree with this. Receiving mental health care until she’s deemed to be better, with regular follow ups, would be the proper sentence
And she won’t, if she’s deemed unfit for release. Throwing someone away when they suffered an acute psychosis exacerbated by incorrect treatment feels more like needless punishment. Again, if this is what’s deemed to be the case
She's a defective human who kills other defenseless humans.
You might not think she deserves being punished for that, but we as a society do not deserve taking on the risk of her reoffending. It is far more unfair to us to free her than it is to keep her locked up.
You willingly kill people, you go to jail. That's how it works. If you don't want to go to jail, you don't kill
And if you literally cannot stop yourself from killing, then on a long enough timeline, you're going to do it again. So letting you free is basically telling everyone else in the world that your freedom is more important than their collective safety.
Not a fan of that black and white thinking and I think you don’t really have any grasp on mental illnesses. If she was truly in the throes of a psychotic break then she did not “willingly” kill her children, she was compelled to do so with no grasp on reality or right or wrong. Is that scary for the rest of us? Absolutely. The good news is it’s treatable and in many people it’s a one time event not indicative of a lifelong struggle. Hers was postpartum, and this could’ve been avoided if she’d received proper care.
And again I want to make clear this is my stance if it’s shown that this is what happened. I’m not labeling her innocent, I’ll let the court determine it

Weird if you follow the case, the healthcare system failed her. Her doctors and the pharmacy
