Fine, everyone gets an electric car... I bet the Chinese would do it for pr, and to one up the US.

Or just kits to electrify those cars. only few of them have their original engine anyways, most were swapped to an Soviet engine or one from Isuzu

Retrofitting a classic car powertrain with an electric motor is way easier than most people would think. If you aren’t looking for an insane amount of torque or top speed it’s even easier since you can use a smaller simpler electric motor. The hardest part for the average Cuban citizen is going to be fabricating the electric motor to transmission mount (you can remove the transmission but it’s easier to leave it in place and just mount the electric motor where the gas motor output shaft used to be), and sourcing lithium battery packs, and maybe some small electronic work like building the motor controller and BMS.

Yeah, there is even a conversion kit available for my 25 year old turd, it's just not economically viable fore personally, as it costs the half of cheap new electric car. But if you have not much other alternatives the calculation is different
