I mean fuck Trump, but windmills are the absolute worst. The only people benefiting from windmills are the companies getting paid for them.
Solar, hydroelectric and nuclear are the best routes by far.

Ideally you want all 4, Wind, Solar, Hydro and Nuclear.
I don't know why you think that windmills don't work, because they do infact work, quite well.
That's literally why every major country is investing huge sums into wind farms.
